My old mentor Josh Kosman does not stop
Josh Kosman was Head Editor at Mergermarket, a company I worked at awhile back when I lived in New York City. When I started working there he was instrumental in showing me the ropes and coaching me on how to analyze and write columns about private equity deals. He showed me what was needed to write a good article and coached my natural writing ability into something that could pass for decent reporting in the nervvy, sometimes exciting, sometimes obscene profession of financial journalism.
Since then, Josh has become a father and written The Buyout of America, a dossier on the parasitic role the PE industry plays in the United States economy and the looming trillions of shitty LBO debt now sitting on the books of many of our favorite banks. Josh is a renowned expert on private equity and believes that the coming write-downs have the potential to rival the sub-prime write-downs of 2007 and 2008. There’s a lot to look forward to out there.
Josh is the man. He now writes for the New York Post. You can buy The Buyout of America: How Private Equity Will Cause the Next Great Credit Crisis, published by Portfolio Hardcover on Amazon here.
