Caribbean Reefs Disappear…

This is an article from the NYT today on rising water temps in the Caribbean. Specifically, it states that waters in the Southern Caribbean near the eastern coast of Nicaragua as well those near the Domincan Republic and Haiti will suffer the greatest damage.

Coral reef damage means coral bleaching, which is when the live coral exposed to the water essentially dies, turning pale white and lifeless. This is worrying because the Mesoamerican Reef that covers Roatan, Honduras is in this same area.
